WHAT I REALIZED TODAY. By- jyotikakkar (who lives for today)

The very first thing I do after leaving my bed in the morning near about 5 am is to switch on the radio. Thus I start my day with the bhajans on FM which goes till 7. When the radio stops playing bhajans then I listen to music on my music player according to my mood. Sometimes again bhajans, Sometimes old songs sm times my playlist. Anyhow there should be music. otherwise, I can't work in my kitchen.

So today I was washing clothes while listening to bhajans. Side by side I was arranging the kitchen also when the old songs were playing on the radio. Suddenly electricity went off.

In the morning when I was in a relaxed mood. (out of house working people jealous of me?) and was not in a hurry for any household work, I didn't realize when I started humming the songs while working in the kitchen. I only realized when I noticed that I was unable to sing the full song because I had forgotten the lines of the songs which I used to sing very often sm years ago. And if u love music u can understand that how u get restless when u r trying to recall the lines and fail. I told my self I shouldn't have had put my hobby in the backspace after getting married.

Songs were...

KISI KI MUSKRAHTON PE MUSKRA,.......
                          AND
MAIN JINDGI KA SATH NIBHATA CHALA GAYA

I thought now I'll give time daily to my singing passion though my thyroid gland is not working properly so the voice has become hoarse and can't sing in much "sur" still I'll start singing from now.

An idea came to my mind to play the songs on my laptop. And I want to tell you that what did this idea do to this "determined to sing "lady.

I brought my laptop. Put that on the cabinet. outside my kitchen. Connected the speakers. and switch that on.
dows appeared wid beautiful picture of my daughter. I appreciated my photography skills. The cursor was moving towards "my playlist".

Again an idea came to my mind that I should first check my Facebook a/c.and that was the end of my musical mood. It is 9 in the morning and I have missed my yoga, clothes are still in the washing machine. I'm still in my nightgown.while my husband is about to be back after playing badminton. I have not done my daily pooja. and I have yet not planned the menu for breakfast.

I wrote this just to tell u what I realised today. I that I'm loosing so much just to see the pics, who went where what my kids & friends r talking about.

FACEBOOK IS THE BEST WAY TO BE CONNECTED BT NT  ON THIS COST.

So I'm thinking to not check my Facebook page in the early hours.

Surya namaskar-12 poses to age gracefully

I read this article in "YAHOO INDIA". And could not resist myself from sharing it through my blog.

Whether we like it or not, we are getting on and nothing can stop ageing. Be it glowing skin or a lean body, the intention is to age gracefully. Suryanamaskar is a sequence of yoga poses that are almost universally beneficial; with benefits that counter many aspects of ageing. The 12 poses of Suryanamaskar help maintain muscles, help retain flexibility and boost metabolism. Practising Suryanamaskar either at a slow or fast pace help with digestion, soothe the nervous system and strengthen the heart. Not just that, these asanas help you feel energetic, rejuvenated and keep stress and anxiety away.

1. Namaskar Mudra: Stand straight with your feet together, hands by the side. Now, bring your palms close to your chest in namaskar mudra and breathe normally. Benefit: Pose 1 and 12 help retain balance and strenghtens your back, neck and shoulders.

2. Back bending Chakrasana: Inhale and raise your hands. Now, arch your back and stretch your arms upwards as much as you can. Once in this position, breathe normally. Benefit: Pose 2 and 11 help with digestion and tone the arms and spine. They also make back and hips more flexible.

3. Padahastasana:
Exhale and bend forward. Touch your toes without bending your knees. Look downwards and breathe normally. Benefit: Pose 3 and 10 increase blood circulation and stimulate the lymphatic system. They also tone abdominal tracts.

4. Ashwa Sanchalanasana: Inhale and place your palms on the floor. Now bend your right leg (between your hands), at a 90degree angle from the floor. Stretch your left leg backwards and arch your back. Then look upwards and breathe normally. Benefit: Pose 4 and 9 help build hand and wrist muscles.

5. Santolasana: Exhale and place your right leg behind you, aligned to your left leg. Make sure your hands are aligned below, with your shoulders. Your shoulders, back and hips should be in a straight line. Once you're in this posture, breathe normally. Benefit: Pose 5 and 8 strengthen your heart and relieve shoulder ache.

6. Shashtanga Mudra:
Bend your elbows, chin, chest and knees towards the floor. Tuck your elbows on the sides and close to the body. Then, raise close to the body. Then, raise your hips and breathe normally. Benefit: Pose 6 strengthens your arms and legs, increases flexibility in the neck and shoulders and helps release tension in the neck and shoulders.

7. Sarpasana: Inhale and raise your upper body up to your elbows, your chin raised upwards. Bend your shoulders backwards. Your waist should touch the floor. Breathe normally. Benefit: This asana stimulates circulation in abdominal organs, aids your digestive tract and stretches your body.

8. Parvatasana:
Exhale; raise your hips pushing the upper body, keeping your heels on the floor. Keep your knees straight and face downwards-with your eyes on the navel region. Once in position, breathe normally. Benefit: See Pose 5. It stimulates blood circulation and helps strengthen arms and wrists.

9. Ashwa Sanchalanasana: Place your left leg forward, in between your hands and inhale. Now arch your back, raise your chin and keep your palms flat on the floor. Breathe normally once you are in this posture. Benefit: See Pose 4. It also exercises your spine and arms.

10. Padahastasana:
Bring your left leg forward (towards your right leg), keeping your knees straight. Touch your toes while keeping your neck relaxed. Once you attain this posture, breathe normally. Benefit: See Pose 3. It also stretches your back and leg muscles.

11. Back Bending Chakrasana:

DON'T CRITICIZE OTHERS ,THEY MAY BE RIGHT. By jyotikakkar(who lives for today).

While discussing a subject, everybody seems to give his/her own opinion and does not agree with another person's opinion. Then why we discuss? If we are not ready to give a thought to another opinion we should go ahead with our own thinking. and should not criticize others.

Discussions are important only when we are prepared to accept that we can also be wrong.

Reasons to upset us are always there. It is up to us how we handle the situation. If we can ignore them then fine but if we want to clarify or start putting forth only our point, remember it is of no use. Nobody is ready to accept that he/she can be wrong. So we should live in our own way but don't let others down. They may also be right.

take care of your bones(A column fr an english daily)

strong skeletal frame is vital not only to provide structure to the body but also protect the internal organs and anchor the muscles.

Apart from this, a healthy set of bones is crucial for good posture, balance and strength. Now the two key nutrients responsible for developing healthy strong bones are calcium and phosphorus. Smaller amounts of other nutrients like vitamins, proteins and minerals are also important for healthy bones.

The process of developing healthy bones begins at birth. However, it is important that a healthy, bone-friendly diet programme is maintained all throughout the life. This becomes particularly important after about 30 years of age.

You of course have the option of going for calcium supplements (but do consult a doctor before you do that), you can also try some calcium-rich foods to make up for the deficiency of calcium and keeping the bones healthy. Below, we discuss five super foods which can help you boost your bone density at any age:

Milk

Without a shadow of doubt, milk is the best (and readily available) source of calcium required for proper bone growth. According to the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), low fat or fat-free milk is the best choice as it has high calcium content without the added fat and this facilitates easy absorption of calcium by the body. And it's not just calcium. Milk is also rich in nutrients like potassium, magnesium, riboflavin, phosphorus and Vitamins D, A and B12, all of which are important for healthy bones.

Orange Juice

Oranges are packed with essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals and calcium. They are a must-have for healthy bone growth. They can be especially used by individuals who have intolerance to lactose and cannot obtain their daily calcium requirements from dairy products. So next time you help yourself with a serving of fruits, make sure you have enough oranges in that.

Dairy Products

Many experts have designated dairy products like cheese and yogurt as preferred source of calcium due to their high calcium levels. In case you are lactose intolerant, you can also opt for other dairy products that are either lactose-free or have low levels of lactose. Yogurt is contains a chemical called lactoferrin which an iron-binding protein which promotes the growth and activity of osteoblasts (the cells that build bones).

Nuts and Seeds

Besides being rich in calcium, nuts like walnuts, flaxseeds, almonds, pistachios etc are also very good sources of minerals and omega 3 fatty acids. Peanuts and calcium contain potassium which prevents loss of calcium in urine.

Greens

Dark green leafy veggies like brocolli and spinach are great sources of calcium and vitamin D and it's the latter which helps in absorption of Calcium and Phosphorus, thereby ensuring growth of healthy bones and teeth. Collards and turnip greens can also be helpful in providing you with your daily dose of calcium. The alkaline effect of eating a diet rich in these vegetables will help you to strengthen your bones and promote bone growth by preventing calcium loss. Besides, plant sterols (steroid hormones) are converted to a hormone called calciferol and that aids calcium absorption. (MensXP.com)

Think proactive act proactive

Doon youth club conducts classes to make us realize about our behaviour.

What I understood am sharing here.

We respond to any situation or matter of dispute in two ways. Sometimes it is proactive response and sometimes it is reactive.

First lets know what is reactive and what is proactive.

1-Reactive response-negative feelings,lose-lose situation ,weak, looser and so on.

2-Proactive response- positive feelings, powerful,win-win situation, empowered, winner and so on.

Your best proactive advisor-“self only”

You cannot hold on to any relationship without being proactive.

Prepares one to be assertive NOT aggressive while interacting with others.

It is a life changing concept.

Enables one to say “NO”, essential aspect of assertive response.

Transform knowledge to skill through practice.

It expands your circle of influence .This is the most rewarding experience.

Proactive response means one is prepared to deal with negatives.

Now it is the time for you to choose between the two ways. One which has positive consequences and other which has negative- short & long term.

Remember you will never fight with a pig.If you do you will get dirty and the pig enjoys it.

THIS IS ME!

MY WEAKNESSES MAKE ME INFERIOR SO I LEAVE THEM BEHIND AND MOVE FORWARD WITH MY STRENGTH.
